Words

Don't remember her name but she was somebody to UN from India or from UN to India. Still remember vividly that piece of news article read back at home in Dogadda in which she wrote that words are important as they have consequences. It became central theme of many of my endeavors while in college.

Then there came a time when i saw "Great" just to annotate the ordinary, "Wonderful" as a token of appreciation for something as worldly and average as it could be. "Legend" to denote what will prove just as transient as a few years. yesterday only one of my very good friends tried to convince me that he could "literally" eat "any" number of kurkure packets. :)

Superlative representing mediocrity. Coupled with an attempt to make all words fit in fewer keystrokes, it got worse to my appetite for words. Even Humpty-Dumpty seemed wiser in "Alice in Winderland" : "when i use a word, i use it for its meaning; nothing more, nothing less."

While all this was going on, there were many things and many times, emotionally, when i realized at times we just share each other's sorrows and joys by just feeling them as if our own without uttering a word; and to withstand anger of our loved ones over nothing. Added to those were feelings of preparation to attempt the trickiest and treacherous heights of goals; And the feelings of let-down before a comeback; and the fortitude.

"Words are important as they have consequences."

Practicality

All that is written in quotes (" ") followed by a great name looks most practical to me.

All that is written outside quotes( "") followed by nothing special, and which is called practical, is imaginary. Its existence is inexplicable ( like i= _/-1 in x+iy), and it is only useful for solving some inexplicable problems.

The meaning of life

The river has water from tributaries, and it makes river's journey worth it. Tributaries come and join at different times at different places, each one adding a taste, a colour, a flow and strengthens the river. But there is some water which came from the glacier and was not evaporated yet; which will still make its way to the ocean, where all rivers meet and lose their meanings, taste, colour, flow and strength.

I long for this water. i want to see it; watch it trickling down the pores of my hands and drink it, to drink only this to quench my thirst. I have been fond of tributaries, their taste, their diferent colors, their flows. Each of them have made this river or the river would have dried up at Place long before. It was at Place, though, that i tasted the water from the glacier. Since then i have been thirsty.

It was fun to see drops from so many unknown points of glacier collecting in a small hole and then flowing down to a known Place, joyously dancing over mountaineous terrain and taking tributaries and their colors along. It was fun to fall with gravity; and to rise over peaks but to fall; and to rise again.

Flow it must; downwards. tribuaries have become the color and taste of river. The river dried up long after Place. Its only tributaries before it reaches His abode. There the hope lies, of secret blessings, of renewal of water, of quenched thirst, drenched hopes.

The composition of the joy of this flow is in accomplishments, the great falls and now the distillation to pure water again. like the one that flowed from the glacier, with its own color, own taste, only strengthened by the water from tributaries. Banks change names, not the river. River has its flows. Flows are river and not the banks.
